The medical quality of health promotion and secondary prevention in the Bavarian health resorts in functional cardiovascular disease, obesity and metabolic syndrome.

The health resorts in Bavaria have been established for decades, with the goal of general health promotion as well as for secondary and tertiary prevention (rehabilitation).

Objective: Management and scientific evaluation with intervention approach of the medical Quality of health promotion and secondary prevention in patients with functional cardiovascular disease, obesity and metabolic syndrome.

The study aim is to determine the quality of structures and processes of health care interventions in the Bavarian health resorts and in particular continuously and systematically documenting results under practical conditions. The focus is mainly the evaluation and possibly further development of health resort specific measurements as well as the evaluation of the impact of health resorts specific treatments for general health promotion, especially secondary prevention. Also a possible longer-term resource savings for public health due to the outpatient preventive measures is considered.
