Regional network for BGF of the Niederbayerische Thermengemeinschaft e.V.
Establishment of a regional network for workplace health promotion (BGF) by the Niederbayerische Thermengemeinschaft e.V. - with implementation of a BGF competence centre in Lower Bavaria
To date, highly predicatized health resorts have not been regarded as suitable regional partners for workplace health promotion. Conversely, the GKV-Spitzenverband advocates the involvement of local authorities and regional healthcare providers in workplace health promotion initiatives*.
The project's objective is to establish a BGF network for local SMEs in collaboration with the health resorts and spas of the Niederbayerische Thermengemeinschaft e.V. To this end, specific prevention programmes are being developed, the requisite BGF expertise is being cultivated within the health resorts, and a BGF competence centre is being established in the region.
The project encompasses four thermal spas in the communities of Bad Füssing, Bad Griesbach, Bad Birnbach and Bad Gögging. A prevention programme is conducted in the respective thermal spa with the objective of enhancing the individual health behaviour of employees of regional companies. This is provided in conjunction with internal and needs-oriented BGF measures within the companies.
The concept to be implemented is based on a combination of preventative programmes offered by external health service providers and in-house measures in the companies involved in the project. It aims to achieve a sustainable improvement in the individual health behaviour of employees and to create a health-promoting working environment in SMEs by introducing and anchoring BGF.
The prevention programmes of the health care providers encompass the following fields of action:
- Nutrition and exercise (Bad Gögging)
- Musculoskeletal system (Bad Füssing)
- Cardiovascular system (Bad Griesbach)
- Stress prevention (Bad Birnbach)
The Chair of Public Health and Health Services Research is responsible for the accompanying scientific research, which is designed to evaluate the quality of processes and outcomes. This research draws on both quantitative and qualitative research approaches.
