Fit im Amt: A Health Resort-Based WHP Concept at the Therapy Center of the Health Resort Bad Alexandersbad for Public Sector Employees (Short title: "Fit im Amt")

Description

The project "Fit im Amt" aims to develop an innovative, health-resort-based, and app-supported concept for workplace health promotion (WHP) for public sector employees and to implement it at the health resort Bad Alexandersbad. The project involves the therapy center of Filumi gGmbH, based in Bad Alexandersbad, the mmc - Agency for Interactive Media GmbH, and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich's Chair of Public Health and Health Services Research (IBE).

The WHP concept developed within the framework of the project focuses on the areas of "physical activity," "nutrition," and "mental health," incorporating local therapeutic resources. It combines preventive measures at the health resort with a specially designed app. The app is available to participants during and after the measures, offering supportive content aligned with the prevention program, such as individualized training and nutrition plans.

The Chair of Public Health and Health Services Research will conduct scientific accompanying research in the project, aiming to examine the impact of the WHP concept (prevention program + app) on various work- and health-related aspects such as well-being and health behaviour. A two-arm, prospective, randomized controlled intervention study will be conducted using a waiting group design with five data collection points. The insights gained will contribute to the development of a sustainability strategy that includes collaboration with health insurance providers and expansion to other authorities and companies.

"Fit im Amt" aims to raise public sector employees' awareness of health topics, improve their physical and mental health, and initiate or support health-promoting eating habits in the workplace.
