Implementation Science Meets Multimorbidity: Addressing Inequalities Across Diverse Contexts

Dates: 24 - 28 November 2025
Location: Heidelberg University or Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany
Application: open for application in July 2025

Five Day Advanced Training Course

Multimorbidity - the co-occurrence of two or more chronic conditions - is becoming increasingly common across the globe, particularly in settings facing the double burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and in some cases, a triple burden that includes injuries. These overlapping health challenges often strain systems and increase health inequalities, yet remain underexplored in implementation research and practice.

This 5-day in-person training offers a focused and practical space for researchers interested in applying implementation science to the complexities of multimorbidity.

Three good reasons to consider this training

  • Designed specifically for those grappling with real-world implementation challenges in health systems where multimorbidity is prevalent.
  • Go beyond technical know-how and engage with the ethical and justice dimensions of implementation science.
  • Learn from international experts and peers through interactive sessions, case-based work, and small group discussions, and build lasting networks in the process.
