Health Resorts Medicine and Prevention

One focus of our group is research in medical quality of health resorts and spas. The aim is to create scientific foundations for a continuous improvement in the care of spa patients and in health promotion.

Therefore, we examine the need for care (including future indications and medical topics of the future) and the use of ambulant preventive measures (cures) and health promotion programmes, the care structures or processes, the care services provided and the gain in health or quality of life.

We develop care concepts with scientific foundations (e.g. ambulant preventive measures for burn-out prevention, health programme for deceleration), research their implementation and evaluate their effectiveness. The focus is on high-quality, medically oriented prevention. Structural and process quality of care are regarded as determining factors for the quality of results.

Efficient health care research in health resorts and spas serves as an orientation for the health care system regarding quality, therapy safety, benefit and sustainability of care.
